Atsma: ‘Natural gas as trusted as green grass’

‘Green gas should be just as normal as green electricity. Or, even better, as trusted as green grass’. State secretary Atsma of infrastructure and environment said that at the official opening of the Gasunie’s first green gas-powered company cars on the national Green Gas Day. The national gas transport company replaced 21 of its diesel-powered company cars with cars that are fuelled by green gas. The intention that eventually all of its 284 cars will be replaced by the more environmental-friendly models. A car that runs on gas produced by the anaerobic digestion of manure and waste emits less soot, nitrogen oxides and CO2 than conventional diesel engines.
