Big losses for many Dutch farmers in biogas

Many Dutch farmers that have a biogas installation on their farm are running at a loss. Especially farmers that built a biogas installation between 2003 and 2007 are now facing extremely high costs, sometimes even up to € 250,000 a year. Additionally, the surge of new biogas plants in Germany caused a steep increase in the cost of raw materials.
