Long on energy, short on support (Germany)

The German Minister for Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel wants to restrict the growth in biogas plants, but parts of the CDU (Christian Democratic Union) are opposed. Now the individual states have to agree on a position. Every day, a new state representative makes a protest. First Torsten Albig, a social democrat (SPD) and the governor of Schleswig-Holstein, was upset at the planned cuts to onshore wind energy. Then his colleague Erwin Sellering (SPD) from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern agitated for the offshore wind farms off the coast.
