Naturstrom focuses on biogas from grass mixed with clover (DE)

The green electricity provider Naturstrom announced last week that the sustainable concept in Hallendorf had proved entirely successful. Performance was significantly above expectations. In the operation years 2012 and 2013, production levels averaged over 2.1 million kWh of electricity and almost 2.3 million kWh of heat. According to the announcement, grass mixed with clover accounts for more than 50 per cent of the plant’s input, with manure and slurry, i.e. waste products, used as well. The plant’s operators are four certified organic farmers and Naturstrom AG, based in Forchheim.
