Producing of biogas without profiteering (Germany)


In Germany around 8,5 percent of the energy consumption is produced from biomass. Despite bioenergy beeing a crucial component in energy turnaround, there are reservations against this technology. Critics complain that many biogas plants are fed with maize or other agricultural plants from monoculture. The cultivation areas are intensively fertilised, the cultivation of energy plants pushes up leasing prizes of agriculture and is a direct competitor to the cultivation of food.
