UK projects to inject biogas into distribution grid

U.K. gas network company National Grid and Future Biogas have announced the commissioning of an £8 million ($13.11 million) anaerobic digestion project at Lindholme, near Doncaster, England. The system can process 35,000 metric tons of locally grown biomass material per year. Biogas produced by the anaerobic digestion system is processed by National Grid equipment and then injected into the natural gas network. According to the company, the facility can produce 12,000 cubic meters of biogas per day.
