Weltec to build 2.4MW Belgian biogas plant (Belgium)

German manufacturer Weltec Biopower is to build a 2.4MW biogas plant for Belgian investor and project developer NPG Energy. The project in the district of Limburg is slated to go live in spring 2014 and NPG Energy will be the operator. Most of the fuel will initially be maize silage but this will gradually be replaced “with other renewable substrates and agricultural leftovers”, Weltec Biopwer said. The electricity generated by the scheme will be bought by carpet company Spin-group BV and used to power its yarn production facilities.
